In the program of the new generation K5, an active part is going to receive the joint venture «CF Kama». This is another joint venture of KAMAZ and the German company ZF FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG. It was created in 2005 (the German company owns 51%, KAMAZ — 49%). His specialization is the gearbox, but so far the plant has only produced mechanical boxes. At the same time, the joint venture did not conclude a special flowract (SPIK) with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and, appropriate, did not take on localization obligations, although the negotiations about it were held.
The joint venture «CF Kama» using ZF technologies will also launch the production of electric power steering and the cab suspension for KAMAZ trucks K5. JV will receive a loan from FRI on these projects (Industry Fund) 500 million rubles. The total investment in the project will be 1.1 billion rubles.
But the most important thing is, of course, the assembly of the 12-speed automatic traxon box, which will be carried out on the «CF Kama». The level of localization of this automatic transmission at the first stage will be only 24%. The beginning of the Russian assembly TRAXON is scheduled for January 2022. Traxon will first be installed on the main tractors of KAMAZ-54901 generation K5. Today, the produced first batch of trucks K5 gearbox is purchased from ZF. In the future, the Traxon of the Russian assembly will be delivered not only to KAMAZ, but perhaps the Minsk joint venture Maz and MAN, AZ Ural and even for Japanese Isuzu trucks collected in Ulyanovsk at the ISUZU-Sollers joint venture.
Localization of foreign automatic transmission in Russia is appropriate in terms of reducing logistics and customs costs. At the same time, high-quality casting is required for the production of this component, high degree of nodes and parts.
